Man City in advanced talks to sign Declan Rice

Manchester City are in advanced talks with West Ham over a potential agreement for Declan Rice. That’s according to transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, who says a potential hijack is in the works.

The Gunners have identified Rice as their top target and are preparing a third bid after their opening two offers in the region of £90m were rejected by the Hammers. But City have joined the race and are expected to make their first bid soon as they look to beat Arsenal for Rice.

West Ham United captain Declan Rice appears to be leaning towards the latter.

Declan Rice is Arsenal’s top summer target and Mikel Arteta has been laying the groundwork for a transfer since February.

The England midfielder is expected to cost more than £100million. The Gunners have made two offers so far, both believed to be in the region of £90m.

West Ham knocked back both bids, which has granted Manchester City time to assess their options, and with Ilkay Gundogan moving to Barcelona, Pep Guardiola has reportedly decided he wants to sign Rice.

David Ornstein reported on Thursday that a bid from the Premier League, European and FA Cup champions was expected to be lodged later that day, yet no opening offer has been made, as of Saturday afternoon.

City’s interest has already caused a bit of a meltdown amongst Arsenal supporters on social media.
